Ancient Oriental martial arts have been forming for a long time. Their elements changed with the development of civilization, so they became not only a set of physical methods, but also part of the culture of the people. Wushu emerged before the emergence of Chinese statehood, at first it was a “military craft” (II century). Later, philosophy joined him, and the monks began to learn this craft. Since the end of the tenth century, many of them went to the people. Then about wushu and gymnastics wushu learned throughout the state. Since the 16th century, martial arts schools began to appear in China to transmit traditions and protect against the raids of the Japanese.

In order to legalize it on the territory of the USSR, a motive was invented for the government: the rapprochement of the communist powers — ours and China. In 1988, the USSR Gymnastics Wushu Federation was even organized. In 1990, Moscow hosted the first in our history international wushu tournament. After which single combat became quite a popular sport. Now in Russia the masters of international level are particularly active in the spread of this martial art – Valery Gusev, Gleb Muzrukov, Alexey Maslov and others.

Wushu exercises in children develop all the joints, ligaments and muscles, contribute to the development of dexterity, strength, flexibility and special grace. It is not necessary to set sports tasks when doing wushu – this is a great opportunity to maintain the entire body in excellent physical shape. In the wushu section, children are usually taken without age restrictions (even from the age of 3), because with the right approach to wushu training, it is not traumatic. Training wushu develop in children breathing, concentration, memory, vestibular apparatus. Wushu with its rich philosophy develops in children not only the body, but also the spirit.
In sports wushu, there are 2 main areas – taolu (system of exercises without contact with the enemy) and sanshou (system of full contact fights). Taolu is usually intended for practicing techniques. Sanshou is used specifically in the fight against the enemy or opponents. In thisphilosophy develops it is possible to use saber, sword, spear and stick. Also sometimes used protective gear – helmets, vests, caps, boxing gloves and more.
Wushu is perfect not only for those who are looking for excellent martial art for themselves, but also for those who care about their health, body flexibility, joint mobility. At various times, famous movie actors – Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jack Li and others were engaged in wushu.
